California Community Colleges Transfer Agreement to Historically Black Colleges & Universities

HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Historically black colleges and universities were established primarily to serve the higher education needs of the black community, however they are open to students of any ethnicity.  There are 105 historically black colleges and universities in the country, with most located in the South and East Coast.  They all award bachelor’s degrees in many fields. Some also award masters and doctorate degrees.

安徽快3计划员The objective of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Transfer Project is the development of Transfer Guarantee Agreements that will facilitate a smooth transition for students from all of the California Community Colleges to targeted HBCU's.California community college transfer students have an opportunity to guarantee admission to participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities through the . Thanks to an agreement signed March 17, 2015 between the California Community Colleges and several HBCUs, California Community College (CCC) students who complete certain academic requirements are guaranteed transfer to a participating HBCU. The HBCU Transfer Project is dedicated to increase the transfer function and to increase the number of students prepared for transfer to baccalaureate-level institutions. This is accomplished through coordination of college transfer efforts, with an emphasis on the preparation and transfer of underrepresented students, including disabled students, low-income students, first-generation college students, and other groups of students underrepresented in the transfer process.
