My Thoughts:
The sites are tight, level and clean. This is our first parking lot campground. We usually like a more natural setting & cheaper campgrounds but Kevin and I were both raised in Southern California so we enjoy some beach time once in a while. I’m glad we came. The beach is beautiful here. The location is good for exploring Coronado, Point Loma Lighthouse, Cabrilla Monument and birding at the Fort Rosecrans Cemetery.

This is our first California State Beach in our motorhome. I’m very happy with the staff and fellow campers here. Campers brought their own campfire pits so I saw several different campfire pits in the campgrounds. I would come back if we had a site on the ocean or if we came with a group of people.

  1. Have to leave the truck hooked up? That is definitely a strange one. So if you disconnect the car from the motorhome you must have to pay the extra fee also. Rather expensive camping.

    • Yes, if a camper disconnects the car before entering the campground an extra fee per night is charged. Kevin and I disconnected our jeep before entering the campground. The volunteer told us to reconnect the jeep or pay an extra fee per night. We reconnect the jeep and learned a lesson. 🙂 Keep the jeep connected before entering a campground. lol
