Ash Meadow National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada

Ash Meadow Wildlife Refuge-ย the refuge is almost 2 hours from Las Vegas NV, small visitor center, stamp for blue goose book, birdwatching, walking trails, picnicking, pets on a leash.

There are four Wildlife Refuges within 2 hours of Las Vegas so far Desert Wildlife Refuge is my favorite. I hope to see Pahranagat & Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge next time.

Beginning of the nature trail by the visitor center.

It was a cold day when we drove to Ash Meadow Wildlife Refuge. Kevin and I were unable to walk around the trails this time but several brave people bundled up and had no problem with the cold weather. (we bought Winter gear after this trip)

Happy Travels!

The store is a quick place to stop while on a day trip. The bunny ranch people didn't bother us while we shopped.

  1. Love your new friends!!!

Yes, winter clothing is a must everywhere in the US. You just never know when that cold snap will hit. We’ve had the gloves and hats out once. We refuse to own any type of snow boot. If they are necessary, we move on:)
