in Oceanside, CA Site: 29
Our camp site had a picnic table, water, electric and a fire pit. The fire pit was in a perfect place for a campfire. The park was quiet. We had no satellite at our campsite.
We stayed Sun-Sat for $29 a night. It was expensive for us but this park has many amenities we like hiking trails, birdwatching, greenery, good spacing between our campsite, well placed firepit. (some firepits were under trees)
The birdwatching was good here. Our daughter Katie came to visit and went birdwatching with us here.
During our daughter Katie’s visit we saw the ranger in action he evicted a squatter living in a tent. He picked up the squatters tent and drove off with it in his ranger truck. I wondered what would happen next. Would the squatter come back and ask us where their stuff is? Finally, Katie saw the squatters drive off with the tent in their vehicle after they talked to the ranger. It was an interesting experience. Mostly we saw weekend warriors at the campground but some people looked like they were struggling to survive in tents here.
