Our first Quartzsite Adventure

Well, for us, it’s always better not to have too many expectations and to just go with the flow because then it’s always a big plus no matter what happens.

Vehicle Problems

Our first week in quartzsite our bedroom/slide controller broke and our jeep wheel developed a slow leak.  Kevin did some troubleshooting and found the problem with the controller. Tiffin quickly sent us a new one. Then at the campground breakfast a fellow camper told us that a garage in Salome will fix our jeep tire. We drove to Salome and got the jeep wheel patched. Catastrophe fixed.

Meeting the neighbors

We met a snowbird couple next door. Shirley & Bill are from Oregon. They gave us the scoop on where to park our jeep in quartzsite while we look at the big tent next week.

Swap Meet/Flea Markets

I was so excited to find new treasures. It been a long time since I’ve been to a swap meet/flea market. There are several places to buy swap meet/flea market items around quartzsite. I found out that quartzsite is filled with stuff. I tried to remind myself I just moved into a 31ft motorhome. I don’t have much room for more stuff but the temptation to fill the motorhome with stuff from the swap meet/flea markets is big here.

Socializing

When we first drove into the rv park some well-meaning ladies in the clubhouse told us how great the pizza night getogethers were. Kevin and I decided to put ourselves out there and go.

When we got to the pizza place we found out the person in charge overbooked. There were no seats left. We sat by ourselves in the back of the pizza place. After, our initial disappointment we decided to make lemonade out of the situation. We left early and since everyone was eating pizza in quartzsite the hot tub was open at the park. I grabbed two plastic cups and filled them with wine. We soaked in the hot tub.

Stuff Happens and we make the most of it!

Happy Travels!

  1. Ups and downs… yes. Learning to just be happy anyway… priceless! I would love to hear more about how you are handling the transition to the 31 ft. living space sometime, too. 😉

  2. Wish we were in Q this year so we could track you down. But doctor appointments win out. Are you going to blogger fest? We plan on driving over for the day. We went to a Good Sam chapter rally and were totally ignored. But we ended up meeting another couple that was also being ignored and we are now the best of friends. You just never know what or who us around that next corner.
