Apache Trail Scenic Drive

The Apache Trail “combines the grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, and the magnificence of the Grand Canyon.” by President Roosevelt

Kevin and I drove the Apache Trail Scenic Drive. I heard about this drive from Ingrid at livelaughrv & Pam and John at Oh, the Places They Go!

The views are beautiful on the drive. According, to my scenic drive book its a 145-mile drive. The drive can take a full day due to the low-speed limit. The Tonto National Monument is #10 on this drive.

Tonto National Monument has a one-mile round trip hike uphill to see the lower cliff dwellings. The upper cliff dwellings can be seen by guided tour only. Its best to make a reservation for the upper cliff dwelling tour. These pictures are of the lower cliff dwellings.
