Kevin and I needed to get out for a bit so we drove over to see the local ghost town. I enjoyed walking thru the shops & the western gold mining town ambience of the place.
I found out that Goldfield Ghost Town is a commercialized ghost town. If your looking for some family fun with the kids or grandkids this is it. Goldfield has a nice train ride for the kids plus activities like gold panning, reptile exhibit and more.
I liked the old mining equipment around town. This man cage was used in the Silver King Mine from the 1860-1890’s.
The stores sell artsy stuff, cactus, western gear, pictures, signs, food, southwestern theme stuff etc.
The entrance fee is free. The zip line, train ride, pan for gold, museum, reptile exhibit, mining tour… etc cost money.
If your looking for a real ghost town ambience, I liked the ghost town in Bodie, CA so far. What’s your favorite ghost town?
