Planning Day

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt and a leaky tire.

Kevin and I had to change our Spring travel plan this year. In March we expected to be in New Mexico but our Jeep Cherokee needs a tow baseplate put on. We needed a planning day. We decided to use Pizza Hut as our planning place. It has booth seating, its a casual atmosphere & we haven’t had pizza in awhile.

I printed our three travel route possibilities from RV Trip Wizard. All threes plans involved reaching Yuba City, California for the Escapee Ware Rally & seeing our families before the rally.

  • Plan 1 – Chiricahua National Monument in AZ, La Cruz, NM, Carlsbad Caverns in NM, Guadalupe National Park in TX, Roswell in NM, Petroglph National Monument in NM, Chaco National Monument, Canyon de Chelly National Monument in AZ, Petrified Forest National Park in AZ, Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument in AZ, Walnut Canyon National Monument in AZ, seeing family in CA ,Yuba City, CA.
  • Plan 2– Chiricahua National Monument in AZ, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument in NM, Faywood Hot Springs, Petrified Forest in AZ, Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument in AZ, Needles, CA , visit family in CA, Yuba City, CA.
  • Plan 3– Chiricahua National Monument in AZ, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in AZ, visit family , Yuba City, CA.

With smiling faces we chose Plan 3. We aren’t in any hurry to see everything.

I think planning day was a good idea. We will have more travel planning days in the future.

Happy RVing!
