Medina Lake Thousand Trails in Texas

While camping at Medina Lake Thousand Trails in Texas

I saw so many deer at this park. The deer walked into our campsite several times.

Site Seeing: We saw the Alamo and the River Walk in San Antonio Texas. Kevin and I walked the whole river walk loop then had lunch.

Birding: We added the Carolina Wren, Northern Cardinal and Black-crested Titmouse. We also added Egyptian Geese to our bird list. There are two of them here at the park.

Exercise: We’re walking 2-3 miles a day at Medina Thousand Trails.

Happy RVing!

Pipe Springs National Monument in Arizona

The Kaibab Paiutes Indian Tribe have a big voice at this National Monument. The exhibits in the visitor center are mostly centered around the indian presence in the area. The staff is friendly. The tour was informative. The Rangers are trying to make a working farm here just like the original Mormon inhabitants.  We were encouraged to pick fresh apples and grapes from the fields.

A spring runs through the area so this was a good place for pioneers to stop and rest. Mormon ranchers began settling near water sources in the 1860’s. The small hike at the National Monument has a great view of the area. I enjoyed the different colors of the landscape here. Its a nice change from Washington & Oregon’s greenery this Summer.

Zion National Park

Kevin and I rode the shuttle to the Temple of Sinawava. We hiked the Riverwalk trail to the narrows. This is a 2-mile round trip hike. Its mostly a paved trail. We saw a hanging garden in the cliffs by the trail. The canyons in Zion are big, colorful and fun to hike.

After, exploring Zion we stopped at a produce stand. The stand didn’t have an employee inside. We had to insert payment into a wood insert. lol We bought some apples & pears here.

Happy RVing!

Next, Kevin and I are exploring Cedar Breaks National Monument, geocaching & visiting a farmer market in Utah.
